Local businessman files for District 84 House seat
Mark Gotz has decided to run for the Florida State House of Representatives District 84. A familiar face to many, he has taken the self-appointed role of spokesman for Saint Lucie County taxpayers.
Gotz is also a familiar face in Port St Lucie City Hall and the County Commission Building where he has spoken numerous times over the past several years. You’ll usually find him there speaking out against tax increases, ill-advised investments, wasteful spending, and the true role of government. Mr. Gotz has found himself on the right side of the argument the vast majority of the time.
“People recognize me from my time at the podium and thank me for speaking out on their behalf. I believe I can better serve these people, and all our citizens, by being part of the legislative process,” Gotz told his supporters.
Not always facing the dais Gotz has been the Commissioner of the St Lucie County Fire District Board for the past six years as the Governor’s Appointee. As well as a member of the St Lucie County Citizens Budget Committee, and the Vice Chairman of the St Lucie County Republican Party.
“Tallahassee will not change me, I’ll still have a keen eye on wasteful spending and taxation, but I’ll also hopefully be able to get involved in education which is my first passion.
“We used to be the envy of all the world when it came to the quality of our education. We can have that again, and Florida is as good a place to start as any.”
Gotz finished with saying, “I’ll still be out there fighting for you. All you have to do is vote.”
Mark Gotz, a Florida native, is the loving husband to Mary, and a proud father and grandfather.
